Ok, I am looking into bying a TV card for my Dell, and I am interested in what you guys think to be the best card/value for money out there, or something that you think is good. Any comments appriciated.
I'm happy with my ATi, but I've heard many good things about the Hauppauge cards.

My friend has some model of the Pinnicle Card which he rather likes. I am really looking for a card which can support high resolutions and can record with small file outputs.

Well, I only have used one TV tuner in my life (my AIW Radeon 7500).
IMO, it's got a good TV tuner, I can record video in MPEG-1, 2, DivX, DV AVI or ATI VCR (can be exported to MPEG-2), I can also record video at a maximum of 720x480.

If you've got one use DScaler to watch tv not the included software dscaler(http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net) has better display quality. You can get the newest version (4.1.8) @ http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=5c68a939302880bf2b9a8c5bfd012407
