Ogre Battle

OK, heres my problem.

When I try to play Ogre Battle 64, the sound is choppy, but this isnt really my main concern (in other words if you have any suggestions to fix that go ahead)

But the graphics in this game dont work, they dont show the characters. And when I try to put it in full screen mode, it says i dont have dirextx 8, I hae Directx 9.0b and Catalyst 3.7 and i had tried it with Directx 8.1 as well. Any suggestsions?

The choppy sound is normal because Orge Battle is running really slow.

what about the graphics then? I can play the game with no sound, I can't play it the way it is now (no fullscreen, can't see characters, other glitches on the screen)
