The sound on mariokart and starfox doesn't work. On mupen 0.1 the sound for mariokart worked (although starfox didn't). Is there a way to fix this?

Try another sound plugin.

Sound in some games broken because of changes related to RSP plugin.
I don't know if there is a way to play it on Linux,but on windows you can play it with Azimer HLE plugin,by bypassing rsp.

There only two sound plugins for linux and one is really lousy. I've already tried both.

same here. no sound plugins at all for me though :down:
