I am having trouble posting to the board....
Use at your own risk.

Some known issues are:
Audio will work best if the Counter Factor is set to 1. I am attempting to fix this.
Audio does sound better in LLE RSP for ABI 3 games such as DK64, Banjo Kazooie, and others. If Audio is not a full 60fps, audio quality suffers tremendously. That's it for now.

For some reason I know this is gonna rock! :D Gonna try it a little later! :D

Just curious, what is "Reality Signal Processor" under the plugin selection?
*me goes off to try this out

Just ignore it. I am just doing this to see if sound like this is possible under PJ64. That is my results after I conducted the same test with Apollo (unreleased).

So far it sounds fine. I used Rice's latest gfx, your LLE Audio, and NRage's input. Legend of Zelda worked fine. The audio was clear, and no popping, even when it dipped down into the 45fps area, it remained smooth...

Great audio plugin Azimer, ran every game I threw at it perfectly, except Conker BFD which runs slow on my computer so its probably nothing to worry about.
I am impressed that it ran DK64 the best Ive heard it of any audio plugin out there

scotty,
Thanks. The thing that gets audio emulation working well is timing. You can use any audio plugin with this "Audio Fix" version of PJ64. I have noticed some terrible bugs in CBFD when using HLE Audio in my plugin thanks to gent. I suppose I can fix those errors. :-) Hydro thunder is the only game that does not work for some reason. I have several theories I may or may not persue. Thanks for giving it a run. I am hoping the official Project64 team either gives me access to 1.5 source to add my audio emulation to or they add it themselves. I have made contact with them already to see if this was a possibility.

If there is another PJ64 release, would it be possible to incoroprate the kaliera stuff implemented by hotquik, or maybe create a new kaliera plugin specification that would let hotquik work on netplay independantly...

First: aprentice: Audio fix is a newer version of Azimer's audio plugin, very cool. .
Second: Zorbid: Why are you asking, in the Apollo forum, about something related to project 64?

Audio Fix is an updated verison of PJ64 1.4, and Azimer is in touch with the PJ64 authors to release an updated version based on the closed source v1.5, read his last post :)

hm. It's actually both an updated pj64 v1.4, and an updated audio plugin.
In either case, I do hope Azimer can get his updates added to the mix for a potential pj64 1.5 SP2. That would rock.

I just tried Banjo-tooie in 1964 with this plugin, Audio works fine, sounds pretty good, and save states load fine too!

looks like he gave Schibo and Rice at least some of it, cause the new 1964 apparently has teh bomb for sound.

Azimer has done great job. However audio improvement in new 1964 is done independently.

Cheers Azimer! Thanks for continuing to contribute to the emulation scene and providing the community with another excellent audio plugin.
Azimer is the king of n64 audio http://www.cgtalk.com/images/smilies/buttrock.gif
And I'd have to rate LaC's as #2 for his excellent work on the nemu sound plugin.
I've never been a fan of Jabo's sound plugins.
Edit:
Thanks for the correction Azimer.

one thing i have noticed, is that in Banjo-tooie the audio syncs at 55VI's instead of 60VI's for the (U) [!] rom, yes my cpu is fast enough to run this game, it works perfectly well on Jabos sound plugin in pj64 ;), the intro as a result is unpassable.
Zelda OOT, StarFox and Super mario 64 seem to hover around 57VI's too, odd no? Banjo kazooie is at a perfect 60 vi's

The audio plugin is -=NOT=- compatible with any other version of PJ64, 1964, Mupen, TR64 or Apollo. This is not a spec plugin... You can only use it successfully with PJ64.EXE included in the .zip file with Speed Limiter disabled, Sync Audio enabled on whatever plugin you use (doesn't matter), and Counter Factor 1 if possible.
Oh... and LaC did Nemu's Audio... Not Lemmy. Thanks anyway.

Hmm... I played around with it for a few minutes in 1964 0.8.5 with a few games, and it seems to work fine, although CPU usage is 5-8x more than 0.3.

Did you read what azimer said before you posted?

Azi has experimented a new way to handle sound timing in n64 emulation. This technic need to be implemented in the core and of course the sound plugin assume the core has implemented it. So, trying the plugin in another emu is USELESS and giving feedback about other emu is USELESS too as you'll get totally random result.
Secondly something i'm not totally sure about, the sound processor usage percentage is meaningless as the plugin will take ALL the time left by the other parts to limit the speed of the emulator.
I hope i didn't say anything wrong, otherwise, please correct me Azimer ;)

Of course. I'm just saying that, while there may not be any benefit in using it outside of the modified PJ64, it at least works. Azimer made it sound like it wouldn't work at all.

This is a problem with PJ64's savestates and reinitializing audio/emulation. I didn't bother to fix any problems. My concern was only to demonstrate good audio emulation in a fast emulator.

I test this versions of Project64:
1.3 - after load save state sound is ok

Would you be able to make an audio fix version of Project 64 1.5?
olivieryuyu
December 19th, 2004, 07:47
there will not be a audio fix of pj 64 1.5 because the authors of pj64 doesn't release the source of it and won't release it.
