I just checked some time ago. The only one i found that was using a n64 emulator was using project64 and apparently, wasn't that famous either...

Netplay is found in the file menu (netplay provided by kaillera)

The Netplay in 1964 is not good. Wait for the next version with better netplay if you want to use 1964.

It works, but it's butt slow even when you're playing on two of your computers on the same isp w/20 ping.
