The Project64k Honor Code is an integral part of playing Super Smash Brothers. You can know how to play, sure, but are you honorable? Will people enjoy playing with you? Follow these characteristics and you should be on you way to being on the Honor List.
You:
-Are polite
-Are good-natured
-Don't use hammers
-Know how to use PJ64k intelligently
-Have fast speeds on PJ64k
-Have the required cheats on (All Characters)
-You dont pause irregularly. When you do, you ask if the persoon is ready before you unpause, and only pause when the players are not close together
-Don't taunt excessively. 3 per match, max.
Those already on the list:
cHaos
FragMasterGen
nico
Mike Oxbig
Eva 00
Slayn
Vicioman
Jimbot
moogle
mastertune007
katon
TekkaBlade
Slick McFavorite
Frizzle
Cloud Strife
If you want, you can add (SsB) to the end of your Nickname in PJ64k. That way, people who don't know about it think that you want to play Super Smash Brothers, which is fine, cause you do, but only the people who know about this know what it stands for. For example, I know what G-Unit stands for, and I don't even play MAME or whatever. I would like to avoid that.
Want to discuss it? Sure. Think I forgot you? I might have. Ask me.

Well, having fast speeds isn't a matter of honour, it's a matter of CA$H. I'd get a faster system so it wouldn't slow down if I had money. :\
And, I taunt out of habit every time I make a kill, if at all possible. Mostly due to RL bouts in Melee...

Good points, but I guess I named it wrong then. I just wanted a lost that people could say, 'Ok, all these people are good people to play, and I wont have any problems. Honor Code just sprung to mind. Woould you like to be on it?

Its part of the honor code. Every person who has any decency doersnt use them. We know they are cheap, and simply dont pick them up. See how many people get pissed at you when you use hammers

Dont use hammers is a lame rule
Hammers are like hearts, there is a huge fight to grab em, and the winner takes all
Taunting does get on my nerves, and everything else looks good

Having fast speeds on PJ64K is something seen as Honorable? It's like saying if you have legs and you walk with them you're honorable, and those less fortunate aren't... hmmm... Not using Hammers is cheap? Let's go around the area of using Items in General. If the better item spawns closer to one player than the other, they have the upper hand which is stupid and involves no skill. What if you knock someone off far enough so it's ensured they can't get back a Heart Spawns and you just get it, and oh, would you look at that, you're a whole life ahead.

I would have agreed with the 'use no hammers' thing. Super Smash Bros. isn't a game for people who think they always can win with luck. It's a game which you have to master whether there are items or not. For example: you're always depending on the hammer that will show up, and you beat someone with the hammer who's very good, you can't tell yourself to be good. I mostly will pick the hammer, but only because I don't want the opponent picking it up making it a easy loss for me. And if I pick it up I'll mostly won't hit the enemy with it.
What else bothers me is the baseball bat, because it's a one-hit K.O. (most of the times). I don't mind if someone throws it at you, but don't use it to kill the opponent.

But the baseball bat is so hard to hit someone with. If it was easy to hit people, people would ave a problem with it, just like the hammer. But, it takes forever to do.

I agree, bats are fine. You need to understand that certain aspects of the game are there regaurdless of whether you like them or not.
Yes the bat is usually a one hit kill, but its takes skill to use it well enough to actually hit someone else. Just like it takes skill to play SSB. Just learn to deal with it D:
And yes, Hammers are cheap and are not to be used in a 1v1, but in a battle royale its first one to the hammer wins :D

I dont see what the big deal with hammers is. If you are saying the game should be about skill not luck, then the skill is being able to avoid getting hit by the hammer. I spent weeks training with my brother working out anti-hammer strategies for different characters, same as I did with starman and homerun bats.

For battle royale, yes I agree. Its good to use anti hammer moves then. But in a 1v1, its more about absolute skills, and hammers dont fit into the skill category

To test skill and not luck, items should be turned off completely.
There is the random element of what item will appear and where it will appear (in close proximity to whom).
IMO the tournaments should be item free, thus focusing the test on skill, rather than testing what items the console chooses and where it places them...
Or maybe there should be an item tourney and a non-item tourney, with the non-item tourney carrying more weight.
that's just me...

I'm trying to find a Item Switch code so the items can be turned off. :plain:

Yeah, once you find it, and it works, and its not a lot, the whole community could put it into their thing and then we could do no items

A couple of questions:
Is it playable on a 28.8K modem with 200ms pings?
Does Project64k support SRAM/EEPROM files in multiplayer? If so, then why not give everyone a save with all characters/item switch unlocked?

In PJ64k, when you enable the Mushroom Kingdom level in the Game Shark Cheats menu, it also enables the item select in Smash Bros. From there you just put the item appearance down to none.
This has worked in the online games I've played...
unless I'm missing something here...

HOLY @#$%!!! You're totally right! I'm gonna have to test this some more, but this has great potential... You guys, if you read this test it out and see if it works with no desync(key point).
BTW, BayBEE, I need to actually play you online for you to officially put that (SsB) on your name. You should be fine tho.
Also, I could have sworn I replaied to you, Khan Artist. Dunno what happened... Well, yes you can, but to make up for it, you need to have a kick ass computer so the computer doesn't slow the game down, and the other person does too. Even then, if your ping's above 150, you have a major delay problem on your hands. Check out that Lag and Delay part of my site, both links in my sig should get you there if you navigate well.

I actually found one that works but it needs the GS button to be pressed. :(

Hammer rule eh? Didn't you notice when you use the hammers your char becomes very difficult to control, that is the down side, but it also allows you to dodge the hammer with relative ease, ie, jump on the highest platform and jump from there to somewhere else, the hammer doesn't even last that long.
As for the speed thing, my computer is more than capable of emulating this paticular rom, however, my connection (56K) is not, so therefore i'm not honorable ;)

Lol, thats not what I meant by it at all. That was thrown in at the end and Honor list sounds better than, People who have fast computers and good pings and play fair list :D XD
To alaxa, try it. When you turn on mushroom kingdom, and nothing else save for all char, item select is turned on. Now, cheat master, does that need a gs button? I think not. I'm updating my site as we speak...

I remember trying that code, and for some reason, it didnt work. If you turn on Mushroom Kingdom, it turns on Item Select too. I think, unless someone says it doesn't work, that this cheat and all character are the only cheats that need to be turned on. Period. All this talk about item switch codes doesn't need to happen. IT TURNS ON WITH MUSH KING

I remember trying that code, and for some reason, it didnt work.
if you tried the original Code on 1.4 or this Pj64k version then im not suprised lol
those do not support GS/AR Button codes (1.5 F9)
If you see the code above you will see that ive made it a 16 Bit code (81) & not a 16 Bit GS/AR Activator (89)
Plus if you folow my note you will find that the cheat does indeed work.
although this whole fascination of it all really is beyond me :)

Fortuantely, I do have a kick-ass computer. :P Too bad glN64 doesn't work for me with PJ64.
I'll just have to give it a go and see if it's even playable.

Oh yeah, I swear, I posted a message replieing to this. You can't use saves im multi, there is no way, and probably will never be a way, to transfer actual data from one persons computer to another's and use it in a game. hotquik explained it well here, but with transfar paks for Pokestadium (almost the same as mempak, eeprom, etc.): http://www.geocities.com/dewluigi2002/Interviewhotquik.html
PS: keep in mind you will still have a delay as big as your mom's backside :whistling

What about if you transfered the saves before starting emulation, and then made them read-only?
Jimbot

I don't know about that, thats more programming stuff than anything else. You could suggest it to hotquik next time you see him post something, and see what he says.

You can play at whatever ping you want to in the servers. This is for a group of individuals with common interests.
