We're very proud to introduce you to Epona! Epona is a 1.3 Ghz Intel Celeron weighing in at 1024 MB RAM and 60 GB harddrive. 24 victories - no losses! Couldn't resist ;)

What am I talking about? Until now, we utilized 2 dedicated servers for the network - Emu64 server aka Fozzie (1 Ghz AMD Duron, 512 RAM, 40 GB Harddrive) and forums server aka Kyona (1.3 Ghz Intel Celeron, 512 RAM, 60 GB Harddrive). Epona is a new, powerful dedicated server. Don't worry, it's normal for hardware geeks like us to name servers, it brings luck and long-life. :p

Epona will be a MySQL, mail and DNS server. With its large amount of RAM, it can handle the MySQL load much better than Fozzie. All databases on Fozzie will probably be moved to Epona. What does this mean? Server downtime minimized. Our network of servers now has an amazing 2100 GB/month bandwidth limit!

Thanks to everyone who has donated towards the new server, it has certainly helped. Thanks to EmuFanatics and EmuHelp for the donation links, we raised about $80. Cheers! Keeping the network running with another server means increased costs so if you have a few spare bucks, don't hesitate to donate. :)

Thanks for the upgrade:
Martin, Redah, Brav and whoever else gets the servers off the ground that I don't know of.

Waaaiiit!! I hope you're not buying this thing retail. Because I could build you a faster system for cheaper. Since my old server died I was forced to build a new one. The new one is a dual p3 933/133 w/650mb/133, Quadro2 Pro, 67GB total HDD space, cdburner, in an 11bay midtower for ~$350.
*blows on fingers*

Unless you're already set.

Yes, rackshack server. Unless you have a dedicated 100MB/s connection at home, we'll stick with them :p

Bandwidth is expensive at most places, but Rackshack is cheap. :)

Mike_PJMaster: We took it down a while ago.

I'm sorry to hear about the Kaillera server. However, I totally about how expensive bandwidth can be. Of course, I'm just a newb who doesn't know too much, but I've got some friends who were having that kind of trouble. Well, congratulations again, and I hope Emluation64 continues to grow and become better than it already is!
