Version 5.0.1 has been released at http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14390.

---------------------------------

Hello, All

I am happy to release the new version after a few weeks' hard working.

Major improvements:

* better dynamic ucode detection and switching
* better screen dimension detection for EU roms
* S2DEX GBI1/GBI2, Sprite2D in both OpenGL and DirectX
* OpenGL combiner fixes
* More accurate texture loading and mapping
* Viewport, scissor in DirectX
* New features: frame skip, screen update setting, fine texture mapping

See the readme.txt file for more descriptions.

I am expecting bugs since I cann't fix all of them. Report bugs in the feedback thread.

Special thanks for Hacktarux (offering me the N64 programming manual) and Orkin (For his 2xSAI implementation).

I thought frame skip was determined to be useless? Is it a good speedup that's not really noticable?

Way to go, Rice! :happy: :flowers:
You've done it as always!

...Btw, correct me if I'm wrong, but tripple buffering ensures smooth graphic, right? So...does it really matter if you use triple or quadraple buffering?

Double buffer is enough to ensure smooth graphic. In a few cases, triple buffering is needed. Quadraple buffering is usually not necessary.

(OpenGL only supports double buffers since double buffer is enough for most applications)

i'm running 1964 0.85 with rice latest RiceDaedalus5.0.0.dll, but with my radeon 8500, in diretx mode, graphics is completely wrong. In OpenGl mode is better, anyway not comparable with jabo latest plugin: any tip to make his emu & rice plugin working better? i mean, even mario64 isn't perfect with this combo, where i get perfect emulation with pj 1.5...:plain:
