:1964: :1964: :1964: :1964:
I've been tweaking around with
Evangelion 64 and 1964 0.8.5 and this
is the best i have ever seen the game
emulated, both 2d and 3d. I had 3d and
sound working okay *shrugs* on NEMU,
but 1964 does 3d and 2d near-flawlessley! even the menus
and comm panels show up perfect!
Anyways, here are the settings i used to
acheive the best results:

======
Video
======
Plugin: Unofficial DaedalusD3D8 0.08Rel 3
Window Mode [800x600]
Fullscrenn [800x600]
Frame Buffer Type are defaults
Options:
[x]Alpha Blender
[x]Hacks
[ ] Wireframe
[x]Disable Combiner *
[ ] Scale Texture
[ ] Fast Texture CRC
[x]Normal Combiner**
[x]Big Images
[x]Smart Screen Update
* Uncheck this if u want the sprites to
have the alpha trans around the edges
(eg so the smoke clouds are circles. not
squares). bt note that, unless it is
checked, all sprites will have a bluish
pallete, whereas checkd the pallettes
are perfect, just no transparency.

** I'm not sure if having Disable
Combiner checked cancels this out or
not...bleh

Also note that when you first load the
ROM, if the textures on the 3d models
dont appear, pause the ROM, goto
video settings and uncheck Normal
Combiner and Big Images, unpause,
and then pause and recheck the two,
your textures should work now.

I cant wait until the alpha bleding in the
2d sprites works right, keep up the
awesome job tho!

cause i didn't have the RSP plugin).

u may also have to uncheck disable
combiner along with unchecking
normal combiner and big images and then
recheck all 3 for textures to work. :]

About no one listening to you, i also felt that but i was addressed with an answer

>Most import games have a different way of displaying sprites or textures.

The old rice daedalus driver work better IMHO.

How does it work on Jabo's?

Btw, why do you warp the text like that? Why can't you let the forum do it instead?

the textbox size makes it seem like thats about how long a post should be and its my natural habit to not type like this but to use cr/lf (enter) at the end of each line. really, it doesn't make much sense but stop crushin my style yo lol

on the Jabo issue, no, I haven't tested Jabo's, i may do that although i've had sour luck with his plugin for any emu :[
[hahaha block style!]

On jabo's?

The Main menu is ok,
One part in the stage "introjection" the directionals and the buttons doesnt appear.
Some sprites are not scaled exactly, No mirroring, some doesnt appear, or incorrect tiling/placement.
but overall it works fine.........

BTW... Jabo's seems to be the best, next to the daedalus plugins

it works perfect on nemu64 using jabo's dx6 plugin

Look, its like trading cards, Fine is no good........

Watch the opening credits. see that adam's wings of light(if im not mistaken) is not mirrored properly, a flaw in jabo's plugin.
also the life meter of the angels....
wait until the stage where TVep19(Introjection) is based, and you'll see that the buttons to push is not shown...

is that the lava level, with the angel
swimming around? if so, the buttons
showed up fine with Rice's. The HUD that
comes up when u press Z had bad alpha
though. I will post some snaps after
work. other than that, all the button
commands show in every level and the
meters too with old daedulis, the one
described earlier in this thread.

Nope, it's the part when the nerv base was attacked and afterwards eva-01's dinner...........
The lava part was the magma diver ep.............

w00t
June 7th, 2003, 22:38
ahhh ic, that was an easy level with the
dinner-angel, with the old plug-in i could
read the commands fine. magma level
on the other hand is a pain :P

Combat and the controls drive me nutz! How the heck do you do beat your opponent!!

which level? the first level is simple, and here are the combat controls for levels 1 and 2, as well as the 'Air' level and the level against unit 03:

<-- and --> on analog stick move left and right.
> press and hold c down for AT feild
> press A to punch, your sync rate determines the combo style, the higher the better.
> bress A and B at the same time to push and grap the oppnent
> if the enemy deploys his AT feild against yours, press A and c down simoultaenously (a then cdown then a then cdown then...) until the little meter next to shinji reaches the top, this will seriously increase your sync rate
> hold b to block (note that this doesnt do much for the level 2 angel)
> hold R+--> when a FAR distance from the angel, and you'll run. When the camera zooms on Unit 01's head, wait until its eyes light up and press A to execute a running attack.

o and this i a little off topic too :P this is indeed one of the most challenging games ever and the 1v1 system could be better. Still very fun, especially the mission where Asuka gets to whip up the JSSDF and the Asuka/Shinji synchronized level.

Heh, never criticizing it but...it does look stupid not to use the entire line but keeping to press enter at the end of the textbox, heh.
