I planned a release for today and here is it. :)

What's New
--------------------------------------------
- Full PixelFx/TexelFx 1 emulation using software
- Second TexelFx start to work but with missing combiners
- Software fog

I'll try to add missing combiners for second tmu in stable version 4.0, btw i want optimize source code to speed up it, redesign website & change logo (if somebody prepare a god logo i can include it).

:nuke: This version still is a beta and i don't give support over it and this must be distributed freely but under this condition: can't be included in any package.

(!) This version still have color problems with eVoodoo 2.6 that make most games unplayable.

Awesome Mcleod, time to play Majora's Mask! :pj64:

Did you fix the lens of truth and the Z-Buffer problems? I don't know what these color problems are you are speaking of.

Oh also, major question, does this version work properly with the newer versions of Glide64 or do I still have to use 3.1?

I know you don't want to hear of problems, but do you want bug reports, for your use?

Do you still need help from crappy video cards (rage 128 myself)?

This works with any Glide64 Version

/me Hugs Glide64 v0.401 Beta :satisfied

Also, McLeod added support for your card. :)

Yay! Glide64 in windowed mode finally comes true!

Wrapper issues fixed all over the shop! No missing textures anymore! Diddy Kong Racing is now literally flawless now! Well done. :)

You may Place it in the WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 Directory, but make sure you have the .cpl file made by doomulation

What's the deal with the "Fast Alternate Z-Buffer" Mode in this release?

And why are some options greyed out?

EDIT: AWESOME! Looks MUCH better! Z-Buffer problems fixed! Glide64 4.1 works without the previous issues!

Some bugs (Majora's Mask): My hearts are white (after the doubled health thing, i'll see what they look like without it,) the lens of truth seems to do nothing at all. I assume these are the problems you spoke of in your post. The juggler's balls (heh) are still messed up, as are their shadows. I'll let you know of anything else, just in case you want to know.

Why 4.01 Beta? Is something wrong with 4.1??

Never mind that :geek:

If you dont mind, I would like to see screenshots of what you are experiencing.

The jugglers balls (hah!) reads from the framebuffer I think, that is a Glide64 issue.

Big bug in PJ64: Upon exiting fullscreen via alt-enter, the error "Can't create windowed primary surface" occurs and the emulator crashes. eVoodoo is set to fullscreen, but displays in both windowed (when the emulator starts) and then fullscreen when switched to, but crashes as I described when switching out of fullscreen.
EDIT: It's funny, when eVoodoo is set to fullscreen it works in both fullscreen and windowed, with that big "but" I just mentioned (only tried PJ64), but when fullscreen is unticked in the eVoodoo config then it won't go to fullscreen, it re-initalizes the plugin only when hitting alt-enter.

OK, here's a pic: (note that the lens of truth is ON, although you couldn't tell that from the screenshot.)

Huh? This isn't w/ uhle, maybe you mean in Glide64? What will that fix? I'll give it a whirl anyway.

Also, use zbuffer? What do you mean? I haven't noticed any depth problems, but zbuffer is what it's set to in Glide64, alternate fast zbuffer mode is off in eVoodoo.

Maybe someone can explain? I'm confused.

Oh, and Mcleod, great work :satisfied

I have a suggestion: Software controlled texture filtering. Currently, eVoodoo either forces bilinear or forces nearest point filtering. I think software controlled filtering should be an additional option.

Also, I'm having the following problems with eVoodoo + Glide64 0.41 with Legend of Zelda:

Sky does not fade properly
No flame effect in logo or torch flames
Current heart in life meter invisible
Texture effect on "NINTENDO64" logo missing (don't remember if it worked on my real Voodoo3)

These may just be due to the incomplete second tmu but if you don't know about my video card it may be of help by showing you what's missing. My current video card is a NVIDIA Geforce3 Ti 200.

Alright, Alright! The great McLeod has done it! Yet has to release 4.0, though. And we shall await that moment! Great work, McLeod, don't let us down!

um... has anyone else experienced a major slowdown from 3.25 to 3.99b? just in the opening screen of Zelda OoT (pal) where the only moving polygons are in the N64 rotating logo, i've gone from a flat 50 fps all the way down to 20... it barely rotates at all.

Clements
June 13th, 2003, 21:24
Using fullscreen? It's MUCH faster that way. It's slower in windowed mode.

June 16th, 2003, 05:29
ah, that worked. thanks. didn't realise that a true windowed mode was now available, i thought i was using the old one.

It is very confusing to have files to have near identical names they are easy to confuse. Anyway, Glide3x.dll is NOT a plugin, so it will do nothing in the plugin folder. Put it in your system32 along with the .cpl file you put there. Now, download Glide64 0.42 (This is the plugin!) Get it from:

http://www.emuxhaven.net/~glide64/downloads.htm

Put this in the plugin folder.

Edit: You can put the file in the PJ64 directory too, that also works.

If you put Glide3x.dll in your plugin folder, the emulator can't find it and Glide64 fails to initialize. You can put the eVoodoo files either in the root directory of the emu or the System32 folder of windows (For XP).

You're confusing the links. The link I gave in response to your post leads to the eVoodoo 3.99 beta thread in the Misc downloads section.

Everyone is new once, no worries.

Check here for the download you seek (http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?threadid=14284)

As always check the main page of these forums at the bottom for the download section. It contains all (I assume all) N64 related emulators, support files, plugins, etc. ;)
