so I just got my PC working.. With ASUS A7N8X mobo and AMD Barton 2500+ CPU.. and..

yea that is right, Bartons have have less MHZ than the AthlonXP but they have more cache 512KB L2 :)

the speed is not what i was talking about..
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2700+, 2.17 GHz <- as you can see DE is capable of recognizing AMD cpus for what they really are.. but not Bartons.. yet.. i'd just like DE to say something like 'AMD Barton XP 2500+, 1.83GHz' and not just plaing AMD K7.. :)
