using Nemu 8.0, glide64 0.4, whenever as young link i try to enter the cementery at night, the game stops. it seems like it freezes when the screen goes black while loading the cementery
Anyway, the rom is a good dump, and it's 1.0
btw, question, anyone knows is a 1.0 savestate will work with a 1.2 one?

A save state from another version of the game MIGHT work on another but is absolutely NOT recommended! It's possible with native saves which can be pretty safe, but it might also fail there. Beware.

Not played this game too much, and never played it in Nemu. If you leave the game at the black screen for a minute or two, it may start working again.
I know PJ64 has a problem at one point that causes it to take some time at certain points due to it not displaying some snazzy effect that usually happens at that point. The solution for that is to simply turn the frame limiter off and wait a few seconds.
Perhaps this is similar to what is happening in Nemu. I may be totally wide of the mark though, just throwing a suggestion in that may or may not be of help to you.

nah, it justs stays there, and the Vl/s goes to 3000 all of a sudden so you know the game has frozen

Try using one of Jabo's plugins or another 3dfx plugin temporarily. I found that on my Voodoo 3 3k games ran perfectly with Jabo's d3d 7.

unfortunatelly, for some bizarre reason, other plugins don't work at all, or have so much glitches it's really hard to play the game

Glide64 0.41 is out. Download it at the downloads-section.

hey
has anyone managed to sort this problem? it only freezes when you enter between 6 and 12 at night (i.e. during the graveyard touring times). I'm currently using jabo's DX7, but i've tried it with all the other plugins and still no luck. also tried leaving it for a while but nothing, the rom just freezes. it's not hugely important, but it's is a heart piece :cry:

compilermode=3 should fix it
Dunc
May 26th, 2003, 01:28
nope, still does exactly the same thing (as well as making the rest of the game run really slow) :plain:
Federelli

well, try compiler modes from 1 to 5... dunno

Possibly a bug in our code... can you send me a savestate or a nemu movie of this happening? :)
Thanks

I've uploaded a movie and a savestate onto my webserver, you can find them here:
http://dunc.dyndns.org/stuff/Zelda/
this happens with all graphics plugins, complilermode 1-5.
The only difference is that when using the opengl plugins, the graveyard sometimes can be seen when it locks up, instead of the black screen.
This only happens between the hours of 6 and 9 at night, when the graveyard tour is happening.

Just tried the movie and everything works fine....
i almost beat this game (still fighting with ganondorf :)) so I doubt we have a cpu bug there.
just as always put this into default section of ini:
Optimization=0
Interpreter=0
Inlining=0
Zelda does not require CompilerMode=3.
Lets explain CompilerMode=3. It is a very secure way of handling compilation and detecting self modifying code. In theory it is the most compatible of all the compilermodes. However, its also the slowest one.

wow, it works now. Thank you very much!
Just out of curiosity, where would i have found this info out before you told me ?

The ini file that came with nemu had this included in the default section of nemu.
Don't see why you even had this problem ... ?
Well unfortunately nemu needs settings for most roms (as probably every other emu, too). I don't have that many games so I can't make an ini. Would be nice if someone else tried. CompilerMode messing and EEPromSize=2048 is the most important part (FriendlyName isn't :))

well dont know why, but the default section of mine was blank, i ended up putting in the the section specifically for zelda and that worked fine.

my .ini fixes that already :D
