When I use PJ64 and the default plugins with my 1800+ Athlon, I get 7fps and pauses, but its very accurate. Is this a core issue or a plugin issue? Just wondering...

It's a plugin issue.

As I remember, you should be able to get better speed with other plugins and emulators.

Hey Rice!!! I just discovered that 1964 Open GL Graphics build 4.5.0 runs the game fullspeed in Project 64 but with horrific graphics errors. Care to look into why this plugin fairs better than all other plugins? (believe me I've tried them all!)

Damn! I wasn't the first to notice this!

Oh well...

Edit: No one seemed to believe the poor guy

so u mean that there is no way to play mystical ninja except with that plugin ?

Well, you get the fastest speed with the 1964 Open GL Graphics build 4.5.0 plugin. All other plugins are just too slow (less than 10fps for me) Use this plugin until a plugin is released that is as fast but more accurate.

Is that so...? Tried Glide64? I think I'll tell Gonetz about it if it doesn't work...
And oh yeah, you might also wish to post this in the "game settings" topic under general. C'mon, it will help us all :D

Mystical Ninja work flawless , fullspeed with glide64 on Voodoo3,Duron1200

Glide64: Slow intro (All way through- 40fps), in-game slows down to a crawl (below 15fps) every two seconds and then speeds up.

Jabos D3D6 1.5: Intro is fast until Yae appears, when Sasuke appears it slows to below 6fps. In game- if you move the frame rate drops below 10fps.

Rice's Daedalus 4.5.0: Slowest intro, gets even slower when characters appear. In game I get less than 5fps.

TR64 OpenGL 0.84: Intro does not slow down as much as the plugins I've mentioned before (10fps when Sasuke appears) In game it stutters between 10 and 25fps

1964 Open GL Graphics build 4.5.0: Constant 30fps during intro (does not fall when Sasuke appears unlike all other plugins) In-game its fullspeed.

I don't mean to complain Clement but those screenies are from Project64 not Nemu64.

I should have answered skyfreak's original question- Mystical Ninja does not work with Nemu... or at the very least mightyrockets ini does not support it yet.

This is what i get after fiddling a little with the graphics plugin of nemu 0.8:)

Go on! Spill the beans! :D How did you manage to get it going? Might be able to alter the ini to take into account your changes.

it worked for me right away... the graphics were messed up until I checked the "disabled texture cache" thing in the video plug-in options

it works the second fastest for me (below 1964 opengl plugin)

also in the nemu plug-in when running he's supposed to have dust or something following his steps, but it's just coloured boxes..

but anyways it works

Ahhh this is one of my fav games for n64, I would kill for it to work.. well only a chicken.

Then it seems the problem lies in eVoodoo. So currently, 1964's opengl plugin works the fastest.
It seems that this requires very much cpu power, and the faster the plugin is, the more speed. That's probably why Glide64 ran it flawlessly.

I just downloaded nemu 0.8 and the mystical ninja rom about 10 minutes ago, opened nemu, started the rom without configuring anything and it works perfect. You only see some white squares when Goemon runs (which should be dust clouds). My config is:

P4 2,4ghz
256mb ram
Ati Radeon 9000 Pro All in Wonder 64mb

Well i don't have the game so i can't be sure but this sounds like it could be fixed with the gfx debugger.

maybe someone wants to learn how to use it and then release an updated lemd3dcombine.dat :)
