All but 4 of my 23 Roms didn't work.
They were:
Banjo-Tooie (U) [!]
Donkey Kong 64 (U) [!]
F-Zero X (U) [!]
Turok - Dinosaur Hunter (U) (V1.0) [!]

The other games worked but were quite slow.
I used the following plugins:
Jabos D3D6 1.5
Jabos Direct Input
Azimer Audio

Most Expansion pak games work inc. Majoras Mask, PD and CBFD.

Excellent emulator- Nice work :)

Cool! Congrats with your new release. A small question about the emulator. I can't change pure interpreter to another option! I'd like to change it to dynamic recomplimer because it's a lot faster.

Says in the help file:

Core : In current version (0.1) only Pure Interpreter core option working.(on all platforms)

I downloaded the linux version and yes its great :)
Good work.

Buts its really bad that no one writes a Sound plugin.
Now someone can really start coding a good GFX plugin :)

Great emulator! now i can play most of my roms under linux! one questions: why on earth use XP style icons for the gui? they look out of place in gnome. and one other thing: wha????

Slougi
February 26th, 2003, 21:15
While we're talking about the GUI, would porting it to gtk2 be hard? Would make it look quite a lot nicer :)

BTW, killthegene, turn the fog off ;)

Lol, it isn't very "early" in dev. The authors just hasn't put work into the speed. Other things has been more important.

What's your gfx card ?

It seems to be a problem with the plugin...

Was it hapenning with previous mupen64 releases ?

im using an nvidia gforce 2 440 mmx (64 mb vram) on mandrake 9.0. the game worked fine on mupen 0.90 with the tr64 opengl plugin that came with it.

it is slow for now, but Ill be waiting to try the nexxt version whenever it comes out. Oh! that reminds me, Jabo's plugins do not seem to show up if I want to switch plugins. Maybe something to think of for your next version

killthegene
March 10th, 2003, 21:26
hmmmm

scotty: try to put msvcrt dll that comes with pj64 into mupen64 folder and it should work

killthegene: did u select ucode0 ?
Unfortunately with nvidia sometimes most up to data driver doesn't mean it's better....

scotty
March 10th, 2003, 21:46
That is better, I can use Jabo's plugins now, Thank you Hacktarux

killthegene
March 11th, 2003, 17:51
i apologise: wrong ucode.

i picked the perfect dark one because it was a similar game.

what are the ucodes anyway and how come you have to select them in tr64 opengl plugin?

Hey hacktarux! :) .. great job with Mupen - v0.1 rocks my world.

Please understand, I'm not wanting to pressure you about the development at all, but was hoping you might be able to tease us with some possibilities of what might make it into the next release?? What are you woking on next? dynarec again? sound?

nudge nudge - wink wink :flowers:

I'm preparing the ground for further improvements in speed and sound. It's long, people won't necessarily many changes but it's needed... Maybe i'll also work on some small compatibility issues for next release, i'm still unsure.

killthegene

a more rounded ui would be nice - scrap crappy xp-style icons from the linux version, and some key shortcuts (ie cntrl + o to open) would also be nice

Speed should be the primary focucs Hack, Sound will get better if speed is better. I remeber when i didnt use a graphics card for N64 emulation and how slow it was, now that I have a graphics card; it actually goes faster and te sound works well, It appears that Video and Audio plugins work together
