Geforce4 TI4600, or ATI Radeon 9X00 (not sure which brand) AGP (is AGPx8 any better than normal AGP???)

?????????????????????????
Hehe, but still. I must object to all those high-tech stuff :(
One is never going to get them. Take a dream computer of a little less stuff and maybe you could get at least *some* specs in the future.

I prey, not pray.
Cruise around pricewatch. Don't necessarily look for the absolute cheapest one, look for a longer warranty period and shorter shipping as well. I just did an index for an athlon 2200+. The first price was $107.86, 5 day ship, 15 day warranty. But further down, for $113, you can get the retail box, 3 year warranty, and same day shipping. The warranty alone is worth that extra $5, plus it ships the same day.

BTW, 2100+ seems to have the best price vs performance right now.

EDIT: After a bit of looking, the motherboard I would be interested in right now is the MSI K7N2. It's based on the nforce2 chipset, it's a decently performing board, and its not expensive. On pricewatch you can find a combo of that board with an XP 2100+ for ~$200.

yeh.. AMD Athlon™ XP Processor 3000+:satisfied

that is even slower than XP 2800, the only thing better is that it has more catch.

XP 3000 cost roughly the same as a P4 3ghz, and P4 is much better (it also has HT)

i doubt it, unless theyve put even better technology into it, and HT doesnt improve performence that much, benchmarks have shown that, and even crashes some Pcs

As for a gr8 motherboard, get a Gigabite Kt400 like i'm using, its a very very nice motherboard, and theres all kinds of extras with it, plenty of instructions too :)

I've got one to, it is a very complete mobo with very good performence and stability

Maybe, if money is not a problem, you could do a Double-processor system.

P4 3.2 Ghz x 2 (4 virtual processors) and the 3.2 Ghz is still not out.
Double Opteron (Don't know the number)

I would go with Double Opteron system and WinXP Pro (and Linux, of course!) :linux:

How about Serial ATA and PCI Express' cards?

There isn't any gain in performance in gaming, i don't think it is worth the money
