desktop resolution
I have some suggestions, some of them might even help, who knows
Try changing your desktop resolution/bit-depth (try lower).
Try fullscreen vs. windowed. Does one work and the other not?
Make sure you have enough disk space.
Kill off background tasks to free memory.
Did you update your drivers since the last time it worked? If so, try installing the older drivers. Try getting even newer ones.
