I get this error when running the accompanied D3D plugin followed by a crash in GFX_D3D.dll. OpenGL plug runs but not well with my Radeon. Using Internal audio plugin, all other settings default.

I got very much to report already
1 Its says Smash Brothers US doesnt work. It works perfectly only the sound stutters alot.
2 When playing smash brothers with my Nrage's plugin the highlighted button in the menu starts moving without me pressing anything so it is really difficult to set any options correctly
3 Jabo's Sound Plugin doesnt work because I hear no sound(Same in 1964)
4 Jabo's graphics plugin 1.5 works flawlessly with no problems so far. :D

Just a tip to people who have problems with the emu crashing on rom loading, try changing the audio plugin to the internal one, you shouldnt have the crashing problem then.

On cart saving does not work on Zelda - Majoras Mask and Mario 64
this happens wit all plugins.
specs are 500mhz p3 and gf2mx
also with f zero x on the menus the selected menu option always moves to the right.
also another problem is that in zelda 2 there is no energy bar so every hit will kill you.
congrats on the emu though. more things are working a hell of a lot better than are not working. well done.

Another Problem doesnt matter which game: If I go fullscreen with Jabo's D3D 1.5 Plugin My screen flickers all the time (its almost the exactly same bug which occured when Using a Voodoo Banshee with UltraHLE)
NicePics
December 25th, 2002, 11:41
Does the screen really flicker, or is it just the stats showing every now and then? That's why I play in 800x600 window mode.
The first problem I have is in Zelda OoT with the black light coming from the treasure chests. I read about switching to Detonator 23.xx, but do they work with my GeForce4 card?
The second problem is with Zelda MM. The entire sub screen is full of stolen ocarinas. I can still play the game though.

That's a bug in the nrage plugin. It happens with othersemulators too.

I watched two rare bug here: one is that the emulator randomly crashes after ending a ROM emulation (hitting Esc key) and the seond one is that the screenshot function (hitting the F10) is not working here.

Using the internal UHLE plugin , gives me this message when the rom loaded:
"Memmap Vxd initialization failure."
Both glide api and D3D versions, so I use the old fix for the voodoo 3 card and make the roms start but with many graphics problems. Thats why I change to another plugin, Jabo's D3D v1.5, this one works perfect with my computer (well with all the roms I've tried). The strange thing is that Jabo's plugin is the only one that I can get working, not even the Dave's plugin works (this one used to work great with PJ64).
I also had another issues, for example with F-Zero X I get, many times while I'm trying to start a race, an error window that says "Can't open SRAM."
I also had problems when the emu crashing randomly after I hit the Esc key, you are right the screenshot function dosen't seems to work either.

i havent been able to successfully get uhle 2064 working with native glide. the emu crashes most of the time and when it doesn't my whole system gets frozen. i have however gotten the emu to work with jabo's d3d 1.5 plugin with no problems..... is there any suggestion to allow me to use the native glide? also i cant get souind to work!
i have a voodoo 3 2000 w/ amigamerlin 2.5 drivers. winxp pro. 256 ram.
i have tired using the voodoo 3 fix glide2x.dll and that casues the above errors. and wen using the glide2x.dll that comes with the package, all i get is a "genport i/o initializaton failure"

Hi guys,
Firstly, congratulations on something that has obviously taken a lot of time and hard work :)
My bug report is that the rom browser doesn't update when new roms are added to the rom folder.
I have read through the readme and cannot find any information about this, but if there is a way that I have missed somehow, on how to update it, please forgive my ignorance.
Belated merry christmas :)
BTW, I know this isn't particularly of great importance, but congrats to whoever wrote the help file, it's has a very nice informality about it, without losing any of its purpose of informing the end-user. I liked that :)

You have got further then i have :P
My Browser remains Blank.
I had to add the Dir in manually via the Ini to begin with.
& yes after that, if i choose to load a rom in another Dir it remains the one i had to input myself.
I think you guys should have a look at the Alpha source as a recursion/multi dirs,Right click Functions, & General User friendly options would be nice, also the only game i have managed to get to run is Supermario 64 & it crashes after the intro.
(thats only with Jabo GFX & Sound 1.5) no others show anything
Also the cheats dialogue is blank although the rom is good & matches the ini Cheats ini.

Hi,
What a "gentleman" you are, trying to make me feel better ;)
Seriously though, it's funny you should mention that you had to add the roms folder manually, because I had to add a "Mempak" folder manually to get N'Rages plugin to work.
I think the major thing that is noticeable after using this emu though is the general "hit and miss" nature of it. Sometimes it seems to work a lot better than others, even to the extent of games working a couple of times absolutely fine, and later not at all.
Overall though I'd have to admit that my problems are generally not as severe as most.
In summary though, IMHO considering the amount of changes that have been made to the source code, I'd suggest that this release is actually quite a success :)

I agree, ShadowPrince did do a good job making the GUI much more user friendly, maybe the 2064 authors could use some of his code and integrate it into their work. but, of course as always, this is just a suggestion. Great work with everything you guys have accomplished so far

First , Great to hear that at least one successfull n64 emu is still alive  (after nemu and pj64 dev teams quiting the scene sadly) .
Secondly , Im new here :D so hiya everyone ^.^
Now back on topic - i get pretty much the same . i use native video.dll with OpenGL selected , and internal audio checked .
for input i used jabo and nRage's plugins .
no matter what i do , it crashed whenever loading a rom . in my case , Super Mario 64 and Zelda 64 : Ocarina Of Time .

There has been a minor file update two days ago. The new UHLE 2064 zip file adds a help file summary.
In this summary, you find out troubles shooting.
One particular info :
=> "UltraHLE 2064 won't load any rom anymore"
"Have you removed/added a new rom? Have you changed your roms folder? If so, delete the file named romlst.dat in your UltraHLE 2064 folder and run UltraHLE 2064 again."
=> "GUI doesn't refresh"
"Once a rom emulation is stopped, the GUI may remain black. If such a thing happens, just minimize the window, and maximize it again."
BTW, I know this isn't particularly of great importance, but congrats to whoever wrote the help file, it's has a very nice informality about it, without losing any of its purpose of informing the end-user. I liked that
It's important to me ;)

The only problem I've had thus far with the EMU is that it starts out fullscreen on all my games (z: oot, mario64, perfect dark, mk64), and when i try to F12 back into windowed mode, it crashed the EMU. So far thats the ONLY problem I've had other than the random crashes on rom loading/unloading
Great job guys and thanks for all your effort!

Hi,
Windows 98se, Voodoo 5 with 1.04 drivers
Choosing generic glide driver (didn't tried others) at the start I got an error:
"Memmap Vxd initialization failure."
Deleting glide2x.dll from the folder fixes the problem.
Pressing ESC gives me a black screen with HLE GUI in resolution chosen in graphic plugins.
Still testing......
PS. great job!!!

Here's a few of problems I've encountered (using Windows XP):
If I try to open roms from another dir than the default rom dir, I get an error saying UltraHLE can't find any plugins.
Also, the rom list doesn't refresh on start-up, so if I add more roms to the roms dir, I have to delete the romlst.dat so that a new updated one is generated on the next startup.
The save state function has some problems too. No matter where I choose to save, and under what name, the save file always ends up in the dir above UltraHLE, under the name of UltraHLE.sav. Example: My path to UltraHLE 2064 is "D:\Emulators\UltraHLE 2064\" and the saves ends up as D:\Emulators\UltraHLE.sav". So as of now, it's not possible to have more than one save state. It Would also be nice if you, in a future release, could make it possible to not only have many save states but also one quick save for each game.
Cheers and thanks for great work.

Deleting/Renaming the glide2x.dll also fixed the "genport i/o initializaton failure" problem :)
The texture is still misplaced though (Voodoo 3 2000).
Using the attached file the textures are right (Ethermage's fix).

A couple more problems.
System: Celeron 700, Intel i810 mobo w/ integrated gfx chip, Windows 2000 SP2, DirectX 8.1.
Yah, I know the i810 sucks, but this is a sub-micro system I picked up for cheap, and it's worth the 50 bucks I payed. It has no AGP or PCI slots so I can't stick in a decent card.
The only game I have tested is Super Mario 64.
1) I get random crashes when I hit F6 to save. Sometimes it works, sometimes it crashes. My old save stays intact.
2) Normal saves, at least with Mario, don't work.
3) I can't take screenshots with the built-in function. I _can_ do it using Fraps, tho.

I have the quicksave problem too. It happens with all the games, not only with Mario64. I get this error in the debug when it happens:
exception(000001F0): Execution at null page (st.pc=000001F0)
Pd: More than a bug report this is a request: Add a reset shortcut!!

Here's what ive noticed so far :
after esc'ing from a rom , the emulator sometimes lock up . if it doesnt , and you try to load a new rom after one was already started , you get massive glitchs in gfx ( i ran wave race , quit , loaded zelda 1 insted , and the new rom appered with alot of gfx errors that usually dont apper when running the rom right after the emu was loaded).
EDIT: forgot to mention , i confirm the save problems . even wit nRage's mempak , the emulator does not save ingame , only by savestates (F6,F9 etc) .

I don't think anybody has reported this one yet: whenever you double-click a blank spot in the GUI, it tries to load... nothing. It then tells you it can't be loaded.

Hey all, im really new at this, hence the name. But i've known about and always had an snes emulator that ran all the games i wanted perfectly etc... some friends told me about an n64 emulator so im here to try an play it. I have ULTRAHLE 2064 emulator and a few games that should be working (According to others). I hae Super Mario and Banjo Kazooi. When i try to start the rom, an error appears. It says that it can't find the MemPaks file. It also says there was a problem initializing th erom or something. Ive looked arround through the threads and the help file but i can't find how to fix it. Please let me know if their is something im completely overlooking.
Thanks for all your efforts, and for any feedback you have time to give on this thread.

Looks like almost everyone experienced this problem...
If i remember correctly all you have to do is create a folder called MemPaks within the folder where you've extracted the emulator.
e.g. C:\UltraHLE_2064\Mempaks\
