I recently downloaded pokemon fire version and spent about 5 hours of play time on it. I then tried to save and the save was screwed up on that rom so when i tryed to return to my place the next day it started up as a new game. I later discovered that i had to save the state in order to save progress. But five hours of tedious training on pokemon is kind of boring to relive so i decided i would cheat to regain my progress. This would be the first time i used visual boy cheats and i thought it would be similar to P64 but i was mistaken horribly the cheat system apparently uses its own address system so you first had to identify which cheat it is, i was trying to get several rare candies to boost my pokemon back to their previous levels, but when i entered a cheat code (i used codebreaker codes) it did not work. I don't know why and the only way i could find to get it to work was to first find a rare candy so i could identify which cheat code had changed, which at my progress i hadn't even gotten to a rare candy yet so i would have to get even farther then figure out the cheat system.

Could someone please help! The thing i hate most about pokemon is raising pokemon with the annoying experience system. Any advice at all would be great.
