eVoodoo 2.6 release notes:
This eVoodoo version is designed for users of a 3dfx card or eVoodoo 4. As you known eVoodoo 4 still haven't been released, this version isn't really useful for eVoodoo XP 3.x users. Using it with current versions of evoodoo you can have a lot of graphic glitches, then if you what use it wait until eVoodoo 4 release.
Don't ask me about eVoodoo 4 release date, at this moment i'm very busy with uni and released this file for 3dfx users, because this was ready for release a month ago and eVoodoo 4 still has release date.

Congratulations McLeod! :D
Shadow... simply put this file into your ultrahle dir and you'll see what is it...
3Dfx users: use thi file!, is a great glide2x file...:)

It's the Glide2x Wrapper, not the Glide3x Wrapper who's sole use is for Glide64
In other words, as far as N64 emulation goes, this release is only useful for UltraHLE. It will not function with Glide64.
I'm waiting very anxiously Mcleod....I can't tell you what to spend your time on, but I will merely make a request that you spend your PROGRAMMING time more on eVoodoo 4.0 (which as of now is a completely unique program) as opposed to whatever other projects. Just a request, letting you know what one of your users prefers, nothing more.
I just hope you know how many people are anxiously awaiting your fine work :)
Anyway, keep up the good work. Probably not the best place to ask, but how does your Glide2x Wrapper compare to the others?

Ok, I'm confused.
Is this supposed to go in the emu's root directory? Because it's not working at all. The old glide2 and 3 work ok.
Is this for UHLE or 2064? And if it's not for 2064, how come, being that McLeod is on the 2064 team?
Just curious, I'm sure it's a fine wrapper.

This is a glide2x to glide3x wrapper, i've created to mantain only a source and center my work on glide3x. With current (public) versions it has many problems related with color bits sorting & other little issues.
At this moment it may be useful for 3dfx users, it's a program comparable to colourless glide2x and i've tried to make an accurate translation of all funcs, maybe this can be last version for glide2x.
And about of what i'm spending my time, perhaps be better for me spend time i put on eVoodoo with uni, works or other things.
I didn't started because i wanted be famous or for money, i started it because there wasn't any wrapper that worked on my old crappy Savage3D and glide3x was started to test glide64.
My original aims were accomplished many time ago, thanks to eVoodoo i've learned also a lot about 3D software & hardware.
If eVoodoo is only glide3x wrapper is because nobody wanted make one, isn't so difficult API is well documented and now everybody can look original 3dfx src. And if i remember well glide api wasn't designed only for emulation scene and there are more games that use glide2x than glide3x. If i want make a little gift to 3dfx users isn't something bad, this file was stable more than a month ago and for other cards there are a lot of plugins.

The OpenGlide team plan to start a glide3x (http://vogons.zetafleet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1547) wrapper after they finish the current glide2x version.
BTW, why would it be better for a voodoo owner to use a glide2x->glide3x wrapper instead of a real glide2x driver?

It's can be better with VSA-100 based cards (i had many troubles with glide2x on Voodoo 4 4500 and V5 6000, most but all troubles gone with Colourless glide2x , no more hangups )

But this dll doesn't work with V5 6K and UHLE's Glide plugin :
fatal: loadtexture: unable to load texture (single/part 1)!

Maybe I've missed something, but what is eVoodoo 4?

NOTE: My post was somewhat incorrect on exactly what this release is.
eVoodoo 4 is the to be released version of eVoodoo (the Glide3x wrapper, most current version is 3.25.)
I'd make a glide3x wrapper, with pleasure, if I had any idea what I was doing....why is it no one makes one? Is it almost never used or something? What exactly is the difference between the 3x api and the 2x api?

I tought that I posted this previously, I must have forgotten to click on submit. :plain:
The OpenGlide team should start a glide3x wrapper once they'll have finished the current glide2x wrapper.

McLeod, I have one question. Is it possible Directx -> Glide wrapper and if so how hard is it code such a wrapper. What will be the problems if I try to code it. I ask you because you have a what of expirience with both APIs.

well i just hope eVoodoo 4 will have full glide3x multitexture support. and wont have any or many W/Z Buffer problems.

Speaking of multitexturing... I found this kinda interesting:

EDIT: Weird... what is happening to my URL?

Yeah... it sticks a space between YaBB.pl and Board, and adds a <br /> near the end.
It doesn't matter if its as a URL or plain text, it still does it...
